San Francisco: Day 2

As mentioned in the previous post, everyday began with some time at Dolores Park aka the best park ever.

Teamwork

Drumming

The view while waiting for the streetcar.

Oh my gosh, here it comes.

Otis, it's the J train!!!

Life at its finest.

We made our way to this funny old time arcade at Fisherman's Wharf. I loved this baseball game.

The boys weren't sure what to make of this guy.

First time playing Whack-A-Mole. So exciting!

Um ...

Sam watched Susie do the Can-Can.

They were not too impressed with the sea lions.

Come on guys - sea lions just hanging out in a city!

The Railway Museum was more their speed.

After dinner, it was time for more ice cream. Otis took a rainbow sprinkle from Sam's face.

Sam noticed something.

Sam took it back.

Next up - part 2 of Day 2.

San Francisco!

Things were exciting before we even left the airport.

Otis decided to put his hand where the balls come out and there was randomly a green ball there for the taking. He was pumped. Sam was a bit jealous.

But Sam quickly recovered and enjoyed his on flight Dora entertainment.

He was also fascinated with the American flag on the wing.

And then trains, trains, trains!

First - Air Train!

Then it was the BART train.

On our first day, we were already starting our 2012 vacation tradition. Ice cream at perhaps the best ice cream place I've ever been to - Bi-Rite Creamery.

Dolores Park was up next.

Otis couldn't believe his eyes.

Whoa!

Yes!

Easily the best view I've ever seen on a slide. One hour in and we were all ready to move to SF.

Touchdown!

A switch of slides was in order.

Sam couldn't believe how high up the slide was.

Yes!

One more time.

On the walk back home, Sujan stopped in to buy some groceries and the boys posed.

The June and July Movie

Otherwise known as the movie where Otis smears cake on Jason's face at his wedding and Chocolate Behind the Ears, Part II.

A New Friend and a Cool Caterpillar

The day before our trip to San Francisco was a mellow one. But still fun.

Shawn, Evan, and Nina came for a short visit. Sam leaned in close to get corroboration that Nina was indeed super cute.

Otis replied in the affirmative.

Although he did give her a stink eye anytime she got within three yards of his cheddar bunnies.

Snack completed, he felt charitable enough to put on a concert.

See you next time! Move to the East Coast already!

After brunch, we spotted a couple taking pictures of something on the sidewalk. So we stopped to inquire. Turned out that it was an amazing looking caterpillar! The next two pictures were taken by that guy who was nice enough to text them to me.

Check that thing out!

Getting a better look.

Looking at a closeup.

Sensitive tunnel!

Here it comes!

This picture makes me laugh for at least 5 seconds straight every time I look at it.

And then this one has me on the floor.

And then we came home and the boys held hands while riding trikes. Sometimes I can't take the cuteness.
