Happiness is indeed a warm bagel. Who has time to play with visitors when you have a bagel in your hand? Book Time After nap, it was time to walk around the block. America's New Top Snow Model Otis spied something ahead. Sam has no idea how much more fun it is to actually go in the snow! Sunday Looking for squirrels in the backyard. Who knew hanging out on the changing pad could be so much fun? Rosemary, Brian, Jason, and Cara visited. The boys congratulated Jason and Cara on their engagement but chided the pair for the cryptic (yet not really that cryptic) "announcement" on Facebook a few days earlier. Double Trouble prefer to hear good news in person rather than leaked through the interweb. Monday Haircut time. Gotta look good for the playdate with Charlie. Post nap Charlie time. Otis would rather have been at the Board Game Party. The Not Ready for Chutes and Ladders Players. The Pickle and Charlie enjoyed book time with Anne. Who needs books when you have cupcakes? Thanks Cortney! Despite the sugar high, the boys were ready for bed a little bit later. Otis used to hate being tucked in. But now the kid loves it and even spends many nights in his crib without needing to come to our bed. Sam on the other hand ...
Making a break for it. Studying the contours of the snow. It is so much easier to walk on shoveled sidewalks. But it is so much more fun not to. We walked around the block. Otis stopped in front of the house and said, "Home." He went in and closed the gate on us. Then it was time to climb the stairs. And then it was time for their first ever taste of hot chocolate.
Nevermind today's lackluster snow performance. I didn't even get a day off because of it. Let's instead reminisce about the great blizzard of 2010.
Otis hated his boots. In fact, he hated them so much that he kicked one of them off. Sam, on the other hand, loved his boots. We thought Otis would hate his mittens. But he actually liked them quite a bit. But just like last year, they didn't like the snow too much. At least not at first. Sammy warmed up to it first. King of Brooklyn. Otis proudly showed off his mittens. Experimenting with no mittens. He didn't like it. Crunching Sam had a good idea - let's go for a walk. Next post - the walk.
